I saw Axel's post of the Harlequin from Barnaget....had a free Tuesday.....so I headed down with a few friend. Never seen these guys there before. Most of the regulars..harlequin/long tails/mergansers/loons.....still present in abundant #'s.
Late afternoon...Canon 1Dlll....with the Sigma 300-800mm lens at 800mm, M (always)exposure for 1/2500 sec. at f6.3 and ISO 800. All mounted on tripod with wimberly head. Noise Ninja on BG in PP.
As always comments welcomed and appreciated.

Oh nice. I like the stark look of the white on black.

Very nice Roman; tough bird to get in flight! Love the composition and sharpness. I'd like to see a little more of the near wing, and the whites look a little cooked. Excellent photo!

Superb job Roman. This duck is really beautifull and you did a great job capturing this bullet in flight. Very nice light and eye contact (what an eye!)

Great to get one in flight. I saw a surf scoter there on the weekend but it never came close. I like the details and exposure control in this one, and only wish the near wing were further down.

This is a beauty, Roman. Very sharp, good flight angle and comp, nice colors, and I like the dark blue background. My only comment is - I wonder if you could pull any more detail out of the shadow on the belly. On my monitor (and it may be only my monitor) the shadow looks very black.
