This image was created this past autumn in Yellowstone... this bull seemed to be pleading for the cows to look his way, but the ladies just kept grazing away.
Even if you did not have the elk there, this would be a great landscape. Using the layers of water, tan grass, green foliage and BG hill in blue shadows gives the image great depth.
Male elk is great. About the only thing I would change would be more separation on the females so one was not in partial shadow - a minor point to be sure.
John,
I agree with Robert. Nice light and colours. Lots of layers in the image. The Elk is just the topping in the cake. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers,

Lovely as above. Had the does been angled the same as the buck the image would have been far stronger. As is, they are angled away from you and from the light.

I think PS CS10 will let you move and re-image to your liking. LOL. Art makes a strong point here with the light on the far right madam elk. Still a nice landscape with an elk in it.
Love the curve of the shoreline, the texture of the water, and the layers of color in the grass. Interaction is nice. I might reduce the cyan/blue in the shadows a bit. Really nice image.
