    Default Hawk in Last Light

Out in the Everglades, just before the sun went down, this one let us get within 15 ft of it. I couldn't believe it, I kept inching closer and it didn't care.

    Full frame at 390 mm
    20d, 100-400 f6.3 iso 400 1/640

    Thanks for looking,
    Paul

Nice light, eye contact, and sharpness. If only the beak weren't superimposed on the body. The adrenaline gets pumping when a raptor lets you get close!

Wow thats some warm light. A slight head turn would have helped the beak seperate from the body. I might even crop this tighter. A bit off the bottom would be even stronger...

was there some cloning done around the head as i see a different hue just above and to the rear of the head.

maybe rub a noise reduction on the background

Great details and light. Adding to the other comments, I would clone out the left catch light.

Thanks everyone, I also wished for a head turn but that spot that John pointed out was a stick in front of the hawk, so I couldn't shift right anymore either.
