Red kite in flight

Taken at a red kite feeding station in mid-Wales this weekend. For at last 2 hours, there were about 50 of these circling. I've never seen anything like it.

Note the spot of blood on its bill.

I would've thought that spot was the nose :)

Beautiful bird and great pose. I might sharpen it a bit more and try to get more details in the shadows. It must be quite a sight to see 50 of them.

Must have been quite a sight! I'd look into opening up the shadows a bit - especially under the far wing. I also wish the head wasn't turned slightly away from us. Great colours and light :-)
