Default Coopers Hawk takes down a pigeon

Taken recently in central Minnesota. Looks like he got his share of food.

Great shot Mike. Looks really sharp and nice color and contrast. I might try and blur the background some more, especially where those light branches are.

This is a superb capture. What a story it tells. The exposure is spot on. Love the outstretched wings, the details and the colors. As much as I like seeing habitat shots in my bird photos, in this particular case, I believe the large branch detracts from the story/action here I would use Quick Mask to cover it up if I were you.

Great capture of this moment. I like the details, wing spread and light. I would tone down the highlights on the perch and clone out the light branches above the hawk's head.

Nice capture, a shot to be envious of. Overall sharpness and clarity looks good, I would try and tone down the small bright area near the hawks nostril.

Bummer about the less than ideal BG, but both you and the hawk got a nice catch. The birch bark is a little bright and could easily withstand a bit of toning down. Very cool scene, thanks for sharing it!

Besides the background, which is a minor issue, you captured a great image. Nice colors and contrast.

Excellent capture of this action. BG easily fixed, and for an image like this, well worth the time.

You should have a winner once you've done a little reprocessing Mike! Congrats!
