Great angle, exposure control, details and colors. My first guess was that you photographed it in the fall. It would have been great if the darker area on the left were not there.

Love it! You managed to get all the wonderful colours on the head and face. A perfect head-turn makes this image even finer...good stuff!

The colors here make this image. The soft water, slight ripples, the "smile" on the ducks face, all combine to give this one a thumbs up. Excellent pose, almost like a huddle. Good exposure. And almost 90% of frame is a killer bonus. Hang it up on the wall.

I can't get to within 100 yards here and they fly off. Way too many hunters shooting at them here. Please post more of this one if you have it.

Outstanding overall, Mike, as noted above. I really like the colors and detail you captured in the head.

Beautiful. I think the background colours are really help set the mood of the image.

    Mike:

Lovely image, great colors and technicals. When I first saw it, I assumed it was from Cleveland in the fall. It is wonderful you can get that close. Even at our local bird sanctuary, the woodies are a very tough capture. Some of our birds are so tame they will swim up and look inside your lens hood for chow, but no way with the woodies.

    Mike,
This one is lovely. I love the colours, head angle and details in the image. I wish the dark area in the front was not there. Thanks for sharing.
