Was hanging out with my buddies Blake Shadle and Josh Price creating rock and roll music in my room. We decided to have a beer break and lounge outside. I brought my camera with me 'just in case'. This Woodstork came out of nowhere and gave me a sweet fly-by. The light was pretty harsh but I like the wing position and the iridescent green on the wing.

You handled the harsh light well, I also like the wing position and would only sharpen the bird more.

... and glad you did !!!! Great exposure and lots of detail Only thing that would have made it better is softer light !!! Like it a lot !!!

Overall nice "grab shot". The harsh light certainly did not help with those dark feathers on the far wing though.

Mikes. Phelpael Mikes. Really nice. I liked it on the LCD and I like it now. Great wing position, and your subject's position in the frame is just right, IMO. I like that you were able to capture a bit of the woody's green iridescence on the wings. Agree on softer light being the only improvement.
