    Default Australian Barn Owl

    Hi all,
as a follow on from my last post 'barn owl and moon', i've applied some of the advice offered about pic to come up with this:

This is of the same bird in that same series of pics. i raised the colour temp a little and increased the saturation, sharpened it more and removed the second catchlight from the eye (which came from the spotlight we were using). there is a minor crop to lose some of the space around the bird.
Thanks very much to those who commented on the first owl- i'm much much happier with this image after applying the adjustments suggested for the 'owl and moon' shot.
    Eos 5D, f 5.6, ISO 100, 1/60 sec, 400mm, flash.
    comments welcome.

    Well Done.
The technicals look good and I love the head position.

My only suggestion would be a looser composition.
The head position is very interesting, however with this crop it looks like the owl is ducking so it doesn't hit it's head on the top of the frame:).

Well done - I am torn between a looser crop and as presented :) Head position is spot on and you can jsut see the detailk in the eyes.

I personally agree with James here, but I loved this one very much, lovely detail and colors as well as a great atitude from the bird. I would try a bit more USM. Congratualtions!

I like the alert pose and eye contact and agree on a wider crop and more sharpening of the bird. It is quite big as presented. For vertical crops the limit is 800 pixels. I'm afraid most people can't see the entire image without scrolling up and down.

Little more canvas would be nice all the way around as mentioned . I really like the alert pose and the wonderful eye contact. I agree a little more sharpening would strengthen this image. Many thanks for sharing Dejan.

Great posture, intense gaze really works for me! An option might have been to use a higher f-stop for more Dof?
