    they sure dont skim a lot, but they are pretty! taken saturday afternoon on bunche beach in ft meyers.

    D300, Bigma at 420mm, f/6.3, 1/3200s, 0Ev, ISO 400, full frame....no crop

    Harold, Looks like I missed some great shooting!! Nice details and wing position-would probably remove the dk spot in UR corner-well done!!

    Doctor Davis, this is really nice...I like the raised wing position...you have sharp details and a very sharp eye...this is a beautiful bird...:cool:

    Really nice Harold. You got the full range out of the blacks. I am going to be picky because it is such a good picture and just clone out some of the bits in the water. Think you should quit your day job:)

    Nicely done Harold. Skimmers can be tough, but you've done well here. One thing I tend to do when photographing Skimmers is to overexpose by 1/3 to get a little more detail in the blacks, and then bring down the whites in post-processing. The same goes for other black and white birds like Black-Necked Stilts.
