Got info regarding Tom Minor Basin from a wolf watcher and yesterday I went there on my way back to Bozeman. I think they should name Tom Minor basin as "Serengeti of North America" not Lamar valley. I saw an elk herd of at least 200, around 50 pronghorns and many mule deer. I photographed this full frame pronghorn head shot with 200-400mm sitting in my car. If you are in Yellowstone area I highly recommend this place for ELK and pronghorns. Don't count on trophy elk at this place. Biggest rack I found was an 8 pointer.

You have a nice head portrait here Sid. The details, lighting and BG are good. Adding the catchlight to the right eye really enhances this photo. Good job on your exposure, both whites and blacks look great on my monitor. Thank you for sharing information on your new good spot, this is one of the great aspects of BPN.
Nice portrait Sid. Like the BG and position of the ears relative to the horns. Interesting to note how scruffy the facial fur gets in the winter. Bet you're filling up some cards :)
This is really stunning Sid. Love how you are able to see the eyelashes and the lighting in this image is gorgeous. The straight on capture is lovely. Thanks for sharing.
I like this for all the reasons mentioned above but disagree with John about the "dead-on look." The antelope is actually looking a bit to your right; had it been staring right at you it would have been even more powerful.
