    Not sure what was going on but all these characters were interacting as much as I have ever seen them !!! The vultures were alternating between fighting and checking out the Gator !!!

    I saw a similar shot at Anhinga last week! Wasn't sure what was going on!!!!

    I think the black chickens were ganging up on the gator...:eek::D This reminds me of John Steinbeck's "The Best Laid Plans of Mice and Men"...:) I love the pecking order here...:cool: Where was this captured Mr. Al?

    Right after the cormorant tree All weekend they were at it The most interesting part had to be the fighting between vultures !!!

    My money is on the 'gator cheating death and finishing off the vultures before his number is called.

    This is too close for comfort. The vulture in the very front almost looks like he is taunting the gater. Sure beats me why they play these games ????

    This looks like Anhinga on the left side about half way down. what a place. Nothing like it in the world. While there, a huge bull gator was resting on the left side half way down, facing the trail with the snout just touching the water. The vultures would sit on his back and another smaller gator was lounging within 3 feet of him. The bellowing was loud and some were aggressively claiming territory to mate later.
