This is one of the first pictures i took of the snowy owl on a cold late afternoon flight of january. Comments and suggestions to improve it are welcome.
I like the wing position and eye contact. The exposure and sharpness look good, although a faster shutter speed would have helped (I don't use ISO <400 for flight as a general rule). I might clone out the red stuff on the right of the frame and tone down the light area on the left. I'd also run some NR on the BG.
IMO it is too oversharpened, I think you shoul try it with less USM, and if this is a big crop, maybe leaving more room arround the bird would help to avoid noise, as Doug said, lovely light, pose and BG.
Beautiful composition. I agree with Ramon on sharpening, it has revealed a lot of noise in the background, which should not be there at ISO 250. Great overall picture.
lovely pose and light - exposure looks good. Feels a bit tight for me - would go back to the original sharpen a bit less, leave a bit more room all around, run some noise reduction on the bg - and print it and hang it on the wall.
