    Default Portrait of A Killer

Here's one of an Orange Breasted Trogon (Female) with breakfast. Taken over the weekend in Bukit Tinggi.

    Phil:

Striking bird, love the eye ring. The bug looks a bit noisy on my monitor.
I am uncertain about the way the background color changes behind the bird. It might have been nice if you could have moved just slightly to the left to shoot against the all blue background. The brightness on the left tends to draw the eye. I saw from your technicals, that you had quite a rig going on here, so perhaps that wasn't possible.

    Cheers

Considering the conditions the sharpness turned out quite good. I don't mind the transition in BG but I do agree the brightest part just above the wing/shoulder tends to draw my eye. You could crop some canvas at left to place the bird closer to the corner, simply for additional compositional balance. What a snack by the Trogon!! Was this for himself or for some hungry nestlings??
