Default Gray Crowned Cranes - Balearica regulorum

These ground feeding Gray Crowned Cranes were photographed in Samburu, Kenya on a very overcast day. I would have preferred that the rear bird's neck position took the same line as the front bird and that there was less overlap, but this is the best of what they showed me. This is a slide scan so no detailed exposure data available. I hope you like it. C and C welcome. I'm here to learn. - John

Excellent scan John Agree with your assessment and would also like to see a bit more room at the bottom. Would select the rear birds eye and work on the pupil, easy to make it appear sharper, not much you could have done dof wise !!!

Lovely colour palette in this image, John. I don't have any experience with the intricacies of scanning slides but there looks to be some areas of oversharpening (most obvious in upper legs of the near bird) that I suspect are accentuating grain/noise. I would probably remove the dark spots in the BG.

Definite step in the right direction, John. More room in front and cleaner BG looks good.
