This hawk caught my eye while on a birding trip to Apalachiacola, Fl. We all stopped and started taking pictures of him. Comments please. I have another with a different head shot. May post later.

Linda, You did really well for handholding the 100-400,what was your ISO? I like the pose and the perch-the slightly puffed up feathers are nice too-Nice exposure and you have a lovely BG!!! Congrats!!! I see a wee bit of noise in BG -but not much.

    Hi Linda,
A very fine image indeed...agree with Denise on the techs....also agree on running a pass of noise reduction in the background...The color rendition and the sharp details on your bird is superb...congrats on a very fine composition...looking forward to more of your captures...

I mostly agree with other comments, but I find it a bit over-sharpened (the feathers and the perch). Overall, it's a beautiful image.

I didn't even know cameras had ISOs less than 400! ;) Nicely done. Agree that it looks a tad oversharpened, and I might crop a little off the left.
