    Just a fun shot from Little Estero. I knew that the white pelicans often showed the "toilet bowl" look when swallowing, but I was pleased to see this brown do it too. You can see the fish just under his upper bill.

    D300 70-200 f/2.8 190mm f/8 1/1250s ISO 1000 handheld

    The breast looks burnt, although the numbers are around 240.

    As an addendum, my focus point was on the fish, so the eyes of the bird are a bit soft, despite f/8. I used -.3 EV, should have been at -.7 probably to tone down the whites. Didn't have time to make adjustments while the action was happening!!

    That's a cool shot. Never thought about the side to side flexibility of the bottom bill.
