    Default "Garden Spiral"

    “Garden Spiral”

This beautiful lady resides in my Pops garden. She was painted with a Nikon D2x, using a Nikkor 105mm f/2.8D macro lens and a 20mm extension tube.

    Image solution:
focal length @ 105mm / exposure mode @ aperture priority / metering mode - a combination of in camera matrix metering and external hand held spot meter on three anchor points for balanced lighting. /white balance @ manual, custom profile using an expo disk for calibration / / AF - mode @ manual / color space @ sRGB / exposure time @ 1/15sec. / F-number @ f/22 / ISO @ 200 / lighting solution - no speedlight; used two 300 watt strobes, powered down to 1/4 lumen burst, with attached silver umbrellas; diffuser panels were placed in front of the umbrellas to create a soft even glow, and a soft box positioned from the top. / exposure comp @ -1.7EV / tone comp @ +2 degrees / hue adjustment @ +3 degrees / saturation factor @ +3 degrees / support platform - tripod assist, with macro focusing rail / cable trigger release /

    Comments greatly appreciated...

Very beautiful Gus, I like your colours and framing and the way the light is hitting the center of the flower.

One of your best flowers. If you dont submit to Nature's Best Backyard this year, I'll stop talking to you.

Agree with Fabs, and also if you don't do anything about the book this year.
    Very impressive my friend.

Powerful composition. I particularly like the sense of movement imparted by the swirl of color.
