    Great deatil, sharpness and BG, a little tight for my taste. Looks like you got close.

    I got real close from the car window-this is almost full frame-took just a bit off the top.

    The crop works for me Denise. I can tell you how many full frame kingfisher photos I have....zero. A nicer perch would have obviously improved the image, but I'd take a photo this nice any day.

    Nice image, Denise. You can research this to be sure, but I think your "he" is a "she". I'm ok with the perch because the bird is so nice, I do not feel it detracts. A cute pose with a nice head turn here. I'm a little jealous!!

    I don't mind the perch or the crop, I think it's a great shot, excellent detail, nice soft lighting, nice eye reflection, great colours. I have zero of these too, congrats Denise.

    Great shot Denise! This is one species that I have found very hard to get close to also:(. Maybe to improve this image, you could try sharpening the back of the bird a tiny bit, maybe;)?
