    Default Young GHO

From last year. This was taken well after sunset in the woods. Removed a couple of branches going thorugh the head/body. Went with the skinny crop to minimize the bright/dark spots in the BG. Also hit it with a heavy dose of NR. 40D, 400DO + 1.4xTCII, f6.3, 1/60s, ISO 3200, tripod mount, MLU, cable release. Cropped for comp.

Steve, this is pretty sweet. Love the owl itself--such a wonderful mixture of textures and colors. I might wish to see it more to the right in the frame and more room on the left--Very cool image.

Very nice, especially considering the conditions. I would like to see it with more room on the sides, but understand why you did it. Very nice look back pose.

Very cool image, Steve. I like the tight crop and the lighting. The eyes look enormous!

I like the comp as is, and yes the eyes look huge and quite striking!! :-) I imagine you selected the bird and perch in post-processing as there are apparent soft "ghosting" artifacts surrounding them?

Very striking composition and the eyes are awesome. Like the BG in this capture as it gives a lovely mood to the image. Congratulations and thanks for sharing Steve.
