    I took this picture this afternoon inmy backyard, we had about 5 minutes of nice light with birds at the feeders. The snow in the background is a little distracting but I like the bird position and colors.

    Hello Rene,
    I think the BG is ok. The bird is centered in the tan spot with a circle of whiter spots that frame him nicely IMO. Would've liked a few more needles on the perch but its better than completely bare. Image seems a little bright to me but I prefer darker photos so it could just be me. You caught him giving you a nice look.

    I'm alright with the BG too, perhaps simply tone down the brighter parts. The problem area IMO is the perch. The small twig the bird is on is fine, but the whole of the branch is rather large and distracting. It would be very easy to chose and set up some beautiful branches around your feeder - quite worth the small effort and the images will end up looking much stronger as a result :-)
