    Head On at Close Range

    Created just as this short eared looked up as it was working with the ocean directly behind it, looking down while hovering in the updraft over the dunes and when it looked up, we were literally eye to eye.

    One frame later and the wings were chopped off.

    Nikon D300, 500 VR, TC14EII, ISO 800, f7.1, 1/1600, CW metering, +2 EV compensation
