Here is a shot of a short-ear gliding during his hunt. Took this shot on New Years Eve and just ran accross it in my collection. Hope I haven't posted it before .

    Hi Steve,
Good looking flight image--great pose. I might give this one just a bit more room to fly into.

Lucky for you to have seen this beautiful species. As posted the the face and eye look like on the soft side of things. Looks like a large crop as the fine detail seems lacking? The dark BG makes the bird's lighter markings stand out nicely :-)

I'm still waiting for an opportunity to get a good flight shot of one of these guys. The bird stands out nicely against the BG. A slightly less horizontal wing position would help. I'd run some NR on the BG and sharpen the bird some more. And I agree with Bonnie's suggestion about adding canvas on the right. Here's a repost with a couple of tweeks.

    Hi Doug,
Thanks for the rework on this one. I must admit that I had mixed feelings about posting this but thought that I would give it a try. I have been trying all winter for a good flight shot but just can't seem to get close enough. Your repost seems to have brought out more detail in the face.

    Thanks,

    Steve
