    Default A nice Ring-billed Gull

    I captured this one while in Melbourne Fl. last month. Handheld from the "prone" position in the sand:D.

    Camera Model: NIKON D200
    Shutter speed: 1/2000 sec
    Aperture: 5.6
    Exposure mode: Manual
    Flash: Off
    Metering mode: Spot
    ISO: 400
    Lens: 80 to 400mm
    Focal length: 400m

    Love the low angle and how you've captured the gull against the water... well timed/seen and captured. Congrats.

    Very nice low angle image. Lovely lights and bg is fine for me :)
    It is a bit strange that the eye is sharp while the standing foot is oof which is flush with the eye. Have you used selective sharpening to the eye?

    Thanks Szimi. I did selectively sharpen the eye a tiny bit, but I think that the close foot was moving at the time of capture.

    Hi Dan!

    Lovely looking bird, really nice light and pose. The ''prone'' business pay off.
    I gave it a try on PS since it needed some CCW rotation. Hope you don't mind.:D

    Nice indeed - I like the low angle and plumage detail, good job with the exposure too.
