    This is a slightly cropped closeup of a preening Sandhill Crane. I ran an illustration action on a sharpened version. Love that action!:D

    Dan, I like the illustration action used here.The monochromatic tones are lovely. Very interesting abstract -could also look good as a horizontal-well done!

    I like the composition, image and capture...I like the monochrome contrast and the layering of the feathers...it has a good feel to it...congrats...:cool:

    big fan of the illustrated look myself. and this is really nice. i wonder what a little more saturation would make this look like....?

    I love the illustrated look as well and it works great here. For me, I'd give the image a quarter turn CCW and have the feathers going up and down instead of sideways - but that's simply a personal opinion.
