A Willet from Sanibel Island in January. While this may initially appear to need CW rotation, that is an optical illusion due to the slant of the leg. 40D, 500 f/4, 1/1600, f/6.3, ISO 320. Comments are welcome.

    Steve,

I am very fond of these very common shorebirds and you did him justice here. Especially like the Blue background. I am wondering that if going lower would not have gotten more of the blue BG behind him, not obscured the foot and moved the horizon line out from right at the leg/body interface.

Very nice shot! Especially the horizon position! Nice! Thanks for sharing!

The thin strip of in-focus sand is not parallel to the bottom edge of the frame. It must be out by at least 1/2 a degree. ;-)

I really like the colour palette in this shot. My only (real) niggle is that the out-of-focus band of shells behind the bird is a bit bright. You should knock this area down by about half a stop I reckon. Other than that, great shot.

These colors work very well with this bird....I love that white and blue. Nice low angle, although I'd like it even lower.
