    Default Yellow-rumped Warbler

Photographed at the San Bernard NWR on the Upper Texas coast. The little warbler almost seemed out of place in an environment mostly inhabited by waders, ducks, geese, and hawks. I performed BKGRN NR but my eyes (turning 70 soon) apparently limit my ability to see low levels of noise. Maybe my monitor (1680x1050) also contributes to the problem. Not complaining - I feel blessed to be out there taking bird pictures.

    Canon 40D, Av 5.6 @ 1/2500, EC 0, Evaluative Metering, 500 F4 + 1.4 TC, BLUBB. 100% Crop, Cloned out branch.

Very well captured with good DOF right to the tail and nice side lighting. Love the pose and the slight head turn as well as wonderful eye contact. The BG is gorgeous too.. Congratulations on a fine image David.

Well done, David. There does seem to be some BG noise (or JPG artifact) but not too disturbing - plumage looks a little oversharpened which, if sharpening is applied to the whole image, may be accentuating your noise troubles. What ISO did you use? I love the pose and light. There is still a small black area at the bottom of the frame (?from the cloned branch).

I like the pose and eye contact and agree that it looks a bit oversharpened. The BG looks a bit noisy.

Nice, there seems to be a black object peeking from the bottom right side, and maybe a bit oversharpened, but otherwise nice.

Beautiful pose and nice light. Warblers are tough to capture this well! Just back down on the sharpening a little and get rid of the tiny dark spot at the bottom of the frame. Well done!
