    Default Pied-Billed Grebe and Friend

While waiting for the eagles to arrive (they never did), I passed the time by photographing a group of Pied-Billed Grebes. They are pretty good at catching fish!

Good job on catching the action here, Doug. I love his expression, pose and reflection. Fill flash would have helped here. I would suggest brightening the birds eye. Well done.

Cute capture with wonderful action and lovely reflections. The splash of water is a great bonus. Like this a lot Doug.

    Doug:

I like the image, the action and water droplets. The light looked pretty soft, I don't see a lot of high contrast areas. I am not sure fill flash would have helped the overall image. Perhaps the eye would have benefitted a bit. Nice that you had some fun despite the no show eagles.

    Cheers

Well, your wait time certainly wasn't wasted! Nice action, reflection, and an interesting large fish. Lovely capture.

Nice catch, both for you and the Grebe, Doug...Plenty of light throughout the tonal range, I guess just a catchlight, or some lightening of the eye, is the only thing missing.
