Of the most common birds here in south Florida but oh so beautiful especially when the sun hits them.

That is a very impressive eye, Judy. Soft colours in the BG work well and you have kept some good detail in the blacks. I think it could probably stand a bit more selective sharpening on the yellow facial skin and bill.

Judy this is a great portrait!
The details you have captured here are so fine. My only suggestion would be to try to tone down or burn the lightest parts of the beak. Great job.

They definitely look better dry! That lens is tack sharp! The whites on the beak don't appear too hot on my monitor, but sometimes they look better toned down so they don't stand out... personal preference I guess.

A lovely portrait with good detail in the dark plumage, and the bg really sets off this beautiful bird. Although the beak is fine as it is, the suggestions above to tone down the lighter colors of the beak would probably make this even better.

I too love the green eye on this most common bird. Very nicely done in an elegant sort of way.

Love the eye, the s-curve in the neck, and the details in the feathers, Judy. I agree about trying to tone down the beak a little. Well done.

Exquisite detail. A fine shot and the eye is superb.
