Hi guys! I like the pose and water color. The bird looks underexposed; I would have thought that some positive EC would be called for in this situation. I wish you could have gotten a lower angle too. Just out of curiosity, how is it that two of you take a single photo? :)

Very nice pose and eye contact. Colors look a llittle funky on the water and reflection.

Lovely pose and colours. Agree on lower angle and +EC being useful. Looks like it may be a significant crop with some loss of detail. May be worth cleaning up some of the peripheral bubbles.

Lovely pose, eye contact and detail. If it had been possible I would prefer a lower angle but that is not always possible. Many thanks for sharing.

Not an easy bird to photograph! Although the body is angled somewhat away, the head angle is good. The colors seem off in this image and there is a loss of detail which is probably due to a large crop.

    Thanks everyone for your suggestions.
It was shot from a car hence it was not possible to get a lower angle,
it is a fairly difficult subject to stalk and took off as soon as i tried to get
out of the car from the opposite side.
This is a full frame image and at 100% it looks sharp.
colors are a bit off as i work in adobe RGB color space and converted it to sRGB
just before posting, we will improve on that next time.
We had just one camera body till now which we used to fight over :)
so we thought it would be fair to mention the name of both on all our images

hope this repost is a little better.

Repost is better, guys. They are really skittish birds so can appreciate lower angle not an option. I'm a little confused by the colour space issue - both posts are in Adobe RGB which will influence how colour is displayed in a non colour managed environment (most web browsers) but if you converted to sRGB prior to posting it should not have a huge impact on the colour. Have tried a version slightly desaturating the colour in the reflection and adding some selective sharpening to the bird well as a very mild corner burn and cloning out some of the bubbles in the water.

thanks tony for helping us out on the image processing issues that v have,
your post proves that we need to spend a lot more time on post processing than we are right now.
