    Default Helicon Focus Panorama

I took several different images of an orchid and had Helicon Focus stitch them, not only for focus, but also as a panorama. The latest Pro version is awesome. I know it's not your classic panorama, but just had to show the quality of software available today. Specs are not important except to say it was taken with a Canon 40D with a 180mm f/3.5L Macro. The detail is awesome, Enjoy.

Richard unless people know what this program can do I don't think it will have the impact it should. I checked this program out but never got it. I read that the interface was hard to do in older versions. Focus looks good in all directions. CS4 has a new similar feature, but don't imagine it is anywhere near the capabilities of the Helicon Focus. Neat concept for a pano.

You're right Jackie. Helicon Focus is a program used a lot by doctor's, researchers, scientists as well as photographers to merge photos of varying depths of focus to merge them together so you have one image totally in focus. Now they also merge images to form a panorama. Hope this explains the process.

Just curious Richard, your original layout was like a horizontal window frame silohuette before stitching???

Cool, thanks for the tip about Helicon Focus. I knew about AutoPano and liked it, but would love to do focus stacking one day and it would be great if pano & stacking was all in one nice package :)

Bet it could be done with a bird ... :)
