I got crazy one year and planted over 300 tulip bulbs in my backyard. Over the past decade they've thinned out quite a bit and many have even hopped the fence (thanks to all the critters that run around out back). Still, there's nothing like coming out on a late winter afternoon and seeing this - the very first of the early spring tulips waving their hello to me amidst last fall's leaves. Winter, my friends, is almost over!

Very nice Julie. Lovely colors and the promise of spring is most welcome in the less temperate climes. I am from Indiana, and we always looked forward to seeing the Crocuses bloom. I can't help but think of little birds in the nest when I look at this image...

Having been born in Canada I can appreciate the thrill of the first spring flowers to poke their heads through the snow. Sure hope you will post them when they come into bloom. :):)
