    Default White Throated Sparrow

EXIF: Canon 40D, 100-400 L lens at 400mm, f5.6, 1/2500, Arpeture Priority, ISO 400, dodge the eyeball to bring out the pupil, burn burn burn hot portions of the bird and the most of the perch, sharpening

This is one of the situations/poses where I feel a strong need to center the bird. Good idea, or not?

I like this as presented Kurt...well done. the color rendition is very good; with sharp details in the feathers...good head angle and sharp eye contact...the diagonal perch rocks...congrats...looking forward to your next one...

I do like the placement of the bird as presented, your perch being on the left side detracts from the bird being in the center of the frame. excellent details and background.

Kurt, I think it works just fine. You have at least twice as much space from the bill to the edge of frame as from the tail. I like the nice BG and the way the colors of the perch match the bird perfectly. The fan of the tail is a bonus! Nice capture.

    Love your long-legged sparrow Kurt.
BG is very nice too. It seems a little oversharpened to me around the face.

Position in the frame is just fine, nice looking image. Sort of agree with Graham on the sharpening or maybe just tone down some hotter spots. Might also be a bit of noise in the BG?

Hi Kurt it is a perfect example for a center placement I like it

Also like that you did not have to over work the PS, strong image out of the camera needs little work. Would back down the sharpening as suggested !!!!

Thanks all :) Will add NR and back off the shapening. Nonda, which parts of the bird still look a bit too hot to you?

Not sure if they are hot or just 'harsh' from sharpening

Noise Reduction to the BG, less sharpening, a bit more burning for Nonda (probably overdone, looks a bit muted to me now)

Well done Kurt! the repost is big improvement. I don't think it's muted. You've got tanned-morph individual, so I think it looks about right.
