Default Northern Hawk Owl in Flight

This is from Valentine's Day late afternoon in Vermont. The Owl was perched on the top of the Spruce tree scanning the snow covered pasture below and after 300 frames of it sitting pretty without any sign off it went! I am not sure about this crop - I do have plenty of blue to the Owl's right.

    Hey Bob,
Cool action shot. I tried for the last month to get some flight shots of these guys and I know how tough it can be. It really does portray here how fast they are. Some might say that it would have been better with wings out but the way the wings are chambered makes him look fast and projectile like. Nice capture!

Very nice shot Bob, seems like you are getting to see plenty NHOs this winter! I really like this shot because it is very true to the behavior of the bird. Compositionally I would move him nearer the center of the frame; putting his face right at or just above where the lower left 'thirds' cross

Great capture of the 'bullet' pose. I guess several crops could work, either like this or bird flying into the frame. I would sharpen the bird more.
