    The original image is a shot of a lighthouse lens. This was a "first-order" lens, which is a Fresnel lens that is 8.5 feet tall. This lighthouse is the Heceta Head (ha-SEA-ta) Lighthouse north of Florence, Oregon, and is one of the five operational lighthouses in Oregon. The public is allowed to climb the spiral staircase up to the lens room, and I patiently waited for just the right moment to push the shutter button. I caught the lens just as it came around to a junction between the elements. I took the image into PS and applied the "glowing edges" filter and this is the result.

    Kerry, This woke me right up! Very cool idea and well executed-I would love it if you could share w/ us the original as it is so intriging.

    This is really cool Kerry. Love the colours of the prism that you have brought out, never would have guessed what it was!

    Very powerful, the colors against the blacks and the round shapes.
