since I saw Judy's post of the GBH from Wako......decided to work on a few of mine from my trip there Jan. Even though we were chatting up a storm (well...I was)....they provided many opportunities. I had to back up with the 300-800 and just got both in with even a bit of room to spare on the left.....so I cropped it:D!
Canon Mark 3 with the 300-800mm lens at 300mm at f5.6 for 1/2500 sec. at ISO 800.
As always comments welcomed and appreciated.

That is some amazing lens. I know how close these guys are. You did a swell job. Very sharp and good interaction. Enjoyed meeting you while you were there.

The light and detail are just terrific! I seriously love the wind blowing through the right most GBH as well as the pose on the left one.

Very nice all around, nest rather clean for a typical one and interaction precious.
I don't think he's going too far with that little branch, though, he'll have to do better than that LOL

Girls at Wako have wised up.

I like the interaction, light and composition. It looks a bit oversharpened on my monitor.

Love the interaction and the raised crest feathers of the female. Nice clean look at both birds. And I like the eye-level perspective.

Wonderful lighting and action Roman. A very elegant capture that tells a great story of their exciting behavior. Well captured in every way.

Hey Roman... the interaction and detail is awesome here. A well balanced composition too with both herons facing each other. Great work.
