    Default Black Turnstone

This was during a lovely afternoon light at Half moon bay California. Rather than color correcting, I wanted to emphasize the lovely golden light. This was how I saw my subject that day.

400 F5.6, Hand held, 20 D. Image cropped to my liking.

    Bouquets and Brickbats welcome :)

As presented I would take most of the oof sand from bottom and a little from the top, will clean up image a lot.

Color temperature aside, the sun angle is from the hard left leaving you with a deep shadow on the right side of the bird, would look better with even light. Temp wise for my taste is over saturated, I do like shooting in this light (favorite by far) and some of the mistakes people make is trying to color balance. You did the right thing in trying to preserve but over cooked it !! Will see how other see it but do keep in mind this is only a subjective and purely personal taste !!!

I like the capture, you have sharp details...good head angle and sharp eye...agree with Mr. Forns' recommendations...looking forward to your next one...

Hi - I like the lowish angle and the head angke is good - agree with cropping from the bottom.

As AL said the sun angle has been your biggest issue here - alwasy try to keep the sun at your back will give you even lighting on your subject.

    looking forward to more :)
