This leopard gave that stalking look while coming down out of a tree.
Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA) woodlands, Tanzania, Africa, near Ndutu.

Canon 5D Mark II, Canon 500 mm f/4 L IS lens plus a 1.4x teleconverter.

Exposure: 1/1250 second at ISO 400, f/5.6. Image cropped to 14 megapixels.
Single point AF on the eyes, in AI servo mode.

(PS. OK, I corrected spelling in the title, and it shows up correctly above, but not on the wildlife page--how do I correct that?)

Fantastic Image. Intense look and shallow DOF make this image.

Wonderful image. You've captured something really elemental.

The focus on the eyes and face, along with the left paw being brought forward, really makes it happen. Great image!!

    Roger,
I like this one. Good composition, nice texture, I love the stare. Just the face is lighted and that makes a big difference. Thanks for sharing.
    Cheers,

Great comp, color, and detail. I especially like how the pupils are only just barely visible.
