Great image, one wishes the tail was not obscured by the
branch and lichen, the other lichens give it a character.
The posture of the bird is to die for.

    Cheers, Ilija

    That bill is amazing!
Very nice details and pose captured here. That low noise at ISO 1000, almost invisible, of the MKlll is a very desirable feature.

Congrats on getting such a great looking hummer.
This guy looks like a female, am I correct?

Thanks Juan Carlos, this is a female, I should add that I did do a bit of noise reduction on the bg, but there wasn't much noise to begin with.

swell named Hummer :) I love the intensity of the eye and the stance :)
There's a light evidence of cloning in the upper part of the head.
    Colors and perch are excellent!

    Nate,
Very nice image. That is a very interesting beak, and there must be an interesting evolutionary story. Is the some sort of flower this bird goes to that requires such a long beak?

    Hi Roger,
Thanks, there is a large, white flower (I can't remember the name) that this species can feed at that average hummers can't get to.

Nice one Nate. I wouldnt mind a smaller perch. But at least the one he chose has some cool elements.

I cant wait to photograph these guys next week :)
