    Default Horned Lark

Another image in my 'hypothermia' series. I photographed this lark while lying on ice. :)

A very well executed shot and would make an excellent photographic illustration. However, the image (forgive me) is not particularly interesting to maintain attention. I commend what you did to get the image and I certainly would have attempted it given the opportunity despite the above :)

    Great image!
Congratulations on the fact that you had to
get flat on the ice. On the other hand better ice than mud,
which is usually the case with these guys, at least in my experience.

    Cheers, Ilija

It's the angle that make the shot, super.

Great angle and detail on the Lark, well worth the frozen body parts

Ramon has said it all above, well done. In the UK they are called 'Shore Larks' - they are only winter visitors to us from Scandinavia and the Victorian naturalists named them SL's because they were only ever seen on the sandy shores around our coasts. A useless bit of information that I thought you might be interested in, Axel.

Great job getting down on the ground and at eye level with this bird! The whites and sharpness all look wonderful! Congrats, I wish it were mine.

Excellent pose, colors, sharpness, and shooting angle, Axel. You are developing quite a portfolio on these winter birds!

    Hey Axel,
tough little guys to get and the hard work paid off! Only a recommendation for BPN posts......a small black border will help winter scenes from bleeding into our BG color and will just make the image stand out even more......but the image is very nicely done!
