Masai Mara, Kenya, October. I didn't get the flight shot of this species that I wanted, but I settled for this one in the open.

Great capture of this species and beautiful color and lighting. The only thing I would suggest is a tad more room at the top. Otherwise no nits for me. thanks for sharing Cindy.

Great bird Cindy. My only comment would be to try and get a lower shooting position if possible - if you can get a well softened background and ideally a different colour to the crown (blue sky if possible) it shows it off better - here it is blending into the brown grass so is not as obvious as it could be. They are lovely birds for portraits too with the colours and textures and lovely pale blue eye

Great pose, light and details. It is a bit tight in the frame for my taste and it would have been interesting whether a lower angle would have helped or hurt the image.

Thanks for all the comments! The only disadvantage in most safari vehicles is the difficulty in getting a lower angle. I almost always try to position myself at a window, rather than through the pop-top, but it often still isn't ideal.
