I'm impressed you were able to do so well with the lighting conditions and no flash. It looks like you had some back-lighting to contend with. Beautiful pose. Nice wing feather detail. Would have preferred him looking down a little. Still a lovely image.
Nice warm colours Michael, and I like the pose and look-back. I think you are suffering from some under-exposure noise in the dark feathers. A contrast-boost of the bird itself may help this.
I like this image a lot, and primarily because of the way the BG and the eagle are integrated. All the pine (?) fronds form downward-sweeping groups, and so do the wing, neck feathers, and tail of the bird. The wing, especially. So from a compositional standpoint it's really fun to look at.
It's also intriguing because we have no idea what is attracting the bird's attention, and what we presume to be a vocalization of some sort. There is almost an element of submissiveness in all those downward sweeps and "dropped shoulder" look of the wing, and it is intriguing.
