Sorry I've been absent for a few days but I've been working long hours. 7 am to past 11 pm everyday. Every time I can, I take a look at everybody's work here but there's been no time to post. (Working for an AF-S 500 f/4G VR if everything goes well).

Anyway, today I had time to relax at home and I worked on 2 shots I took in England last year. I had forgotten about them until today. This pair live in my friend's lake. They stay there all year long but sometimes they leave during the day. They are not afraid of people but they are so territorial. If you get close they will attack you!

Self critique. I don't like how the bill gets lost in the background. I am not so sure if I pushed the whites a bit too much.

Comments and critiques are all welcome. Cheers!

    Nikon D300 - AFS 17-55 (NOT a birds lens) :) f/2.8G, AP f/8, 1/250s, ISO 200, spot, EV -2.0, hand held from a boat.

Welcome back Rene. This is a very regal pose and I the almost shyness that you captured in this image. The dark BG makes a very striking presentation but on my monitor there does seem to be lack of detail in the whites along the back. Good detail in the neck area. Many thanks for sharing.

I like the pose and eye contact and would probably lighten the BG a bit.
