Image created in Samburu, Kenya. It's shortly before sunrise when we spotted this Black-Shouldered Kite that had just captured it's breakfast. There is a small animal in its talons and a bit of belly fur floating on the soft morning breeze in front of its face. This is an older slide scan so there is no detailed exposure data available. Hope you like this image. C and C eagerly sought, I'm here to learn. - John

The eye contact is very nice. A bit more lighting on the left side of face would be nice. There seems to be a halo around much of the bird and I would have cloned out the bit of belly fur floating. The branch on the left side is a bit distracting too. A bit more room at the tail would have been nice and maybe take off some from the left side.

I really like the alert pose and the wonderful eye contact and I agree with Art's suggestions. Very nice BG in this capture John and many thanks for sharing.
