This is the first time a Kingfisher allowed me to get close enough in a vehicle for a decent shot. The lighting was harsh and I blew the white belt but felt blessed for the opportunity. Approx 100% crop. Cloned out one branch. Noise reduction BKGRN, C&C welcome and appreciated.

Very nice pose and composition David. If it had been possible to move a little more to the right you might have been able to get a little more light on the head area as it is a little dark. The whites around the neck look a tad hot. Good eye contact and clean BG but on my monitor looks like it needs a little NR. These are such a hard species to capture. Congratulations David and thanks for sharing.

A very feisty and sensitive bird, indeed. Agree about the light on the left side of the face. Perhaps more fill light in Camera Raw would help it. This bird is probably saying "Ha ha, better luck next time!"
