Doctor Davis,
You did well I like this capture. I like the color rendition and the sharp details...good pose also with a sharp eye...the green background is really nice...what do the bands on the legs stand for?
gus, with these guys being on the endangered species list, i can only assume that researchers are really trying to keep an eye on them. the research i have done lately on banded birds reveals some amazing finds. they track locations of birds from year to year. that's why it is so important to report any sightings of banded birds when you see them. it helps the research data.
The leg bands are placed on the legs by, I believe, the State of Florida.. I know one area I go to, the Scrub Jays have so many bands on their legs that it looks like jewelry. I have another place that only a few of the Scrub Jays are banded. I try to get images of the non-banded Scrub Jays when possible..
Harold..
Very nice capture. I like the BG and the detail and the eye contact..
I'd say this was perfect, except, then you wouldn't need to go out again and there's no fun in that! BG, pose, exposure, detail and composition...all right on, Harold!!
Very nice; bird's pose, sharpness, overall composition, and bg are spot on. Well done!
My first photo is often the best one as well. But then I wouldn't have stopped to take a photo if I didn't see or sense a worthwhile image. After that first shot maybe I don't take enough time with the subsequent images or don't always wait for the next good image to become obvious or think about what else I want to capture in the situation (different angle, lens, etc)
Cheers
Gail
