    I was out on a shoot with Fabs on Monday aand we found this Green Herron which we both took. I have not seen hers but I like mine. What do all of you think? I don't know what was on the bill but I chose not to remove it. Shooting specs below:

    Hi Mac, we did have a great day!
    You managed to get him with the bill open :) I have not processed mine yet.
    I find the branches behind his head a bit distracting and it was very difficult to get him in the clear, I think we only have two inches on the boardwalk where he was clean.
    He moved faster than your 1/200 of a second and you can see the movement blur on the lower mandible. Maybe some selective sharpening can help there.

    Can't wait to see the GBH in flight ;)

    Great pose and head angle. I agree regarding the BG, it is a bit distracting and might go for a vertical crop.

    The foreground reeds on the left are also distracting. Great color, and except for the reeds, I like how you've composed the image.
