    Default 800mm on 800cc trackside

Nicky Hayden at the first MotoGP test last week at Sepang, Malaysia. Hayden ex 2006 World MotoGP Champion now rides for the Ducati Marlboro Team.

The 800 mm is superb. Focussing is very fast and the IS worked brilliantly.

Wow... a wee bit too close for comfort, this guy looks like he's two or three inches off the ground...:D A great capture indeed...How fast do they normally take the curves like this one Phil?

Seems incredibly sharp for 1/320 sec. Must be an amazing lens. Lucky you.

Sweet !!! Love the image Phil !!! Nicky is looking good Wish him the best driving the Duc !!!

.... Gus that was a fairly tight turn so they need to slow a bit but on the straights they get close to 350 Km !! Amazing I'm sure on the big circuits some of the fastest turns approach 300 km !!!

Thanks for taking time out for your comments. The MotoGP riders have never failed to amaze and is a whole different kettle of fish from the world of F1 i.e. I prefer the MotoGP bunch anytime.

Gus, like Alfred says they do reach close to 340 - 350 kmh at some of the longer tracks. Corner speeds for these 800 cc machines are very fast as well.

Jackie - With practise lower shutter speeds can be achieved in panning but it depends how many keepers you want.

Oh baby... This is a great shot Phil. As a Kawasaki guy I can certainly appreciate the intensity of this shot! The Hayden brothers raised the bar on MC racing and you captured a great moment. Just another day at the office for Nicky. ;)
