Default Great tit silhouette after sunset

Shot this great tit calling just before nightfall immediately after the sunset. Canon 1 D mark II, F/8, 1/160, 400/f5.6/1.4 TC. Cloned out distracting out of focus branches in BG. Saw Artie's bulletin discussion on sunset and decided to set the colour temperature at 9000 K. Kind of looks overdone. Look forward to comments on how to improve.

    thanks

Nice composition and branche. The bird is not un a perfect position, the head is turned away. The image does not have much punch.

Definitely a different image. :) I like the moment recorded as calling. The background just rocks. If I would prepare this image for the forum I would avoid to compose it dead centered. The bird would be placed towards to upper left corner. Otherwise I love it.

Although no colors seen on the bird but for me it looks to be a Blue Tit rather than a Great Tit just by its jizz. ;)

Very cool image and use of techniques. I would probably blur the background a bit... it has some interesting textures but its a little distracting to me. Like Szimi said, taking some room off the left could help compositionally.

I like the idea and am not sure about the color temperature, I'm sure you remember what it looked like. The branch is too big for a bird this size and the bird is too centered. I would lower the exposure since there is still some detail in the whites of the head.

What do you think about this composition?

It's great to add new techniques to our bag of tricks.

Very pretty capture and I like the repost that James posted off centering the subject.

James, I really like the repost. Thank you all for the comments. Can't wait to get started on a new image to post. The learning experience here is really unique.
