Very nice exposure Lynn and I love being able to see the display of the beautiful plumage. I would like to be able to see the mating eye turned more towards the camera as well as the body of the egret. Not easy to expose on white birds and you did a fine job. Many thanks for sharing.
Actually, probably 75% of my bird photos are pictures of their butts as they are getting the heck away from me...birds out west here aren't very tolerant of being watched!
It looks, on my monitor, as though it could use some brightening, the whites seem a bit "dirty"
Lynn, As the point is to show the plumage in the rear, I feel enough of the head and eye are visible. What I would suggest is leaving more room below so as not to cut the feet. Did you do this because of something in the BG?
The feet were not visible due to the branches and leaves that are still in the nest area.
Lynn
Understood Lynn - thanks. We have something we call virtual feet. You know they are there but they are obscured. It is generally best to include enough area under the legs to account for the virtual feet. Another good example is a wading bird in the water - you include enough so the bird does not look like he is standing on two sticks.
Looking forward to your next post.
