    Default Gotcha!

I would appreciate your critique and comments. The competition between local fishermen and the great blue heron make great photographic oppoturnity.
    Shot with 40D, 400 f/5.6L, ISO 200, f/5.6, 1/2000. Cropped and USM in CS2.

Welcome to BPN Sinh! I like the action you've captured here, and in particular the splash of water. I would move the bird lower in the frame and add some canvas up top. I might also move the bird slightly to the right. The whites seem just a little hot on the lower mandible. Looking forward to seeing more of your images! BTW you might want to add your location information visible on the left side of the page.

Welcome to BPN! You really caught the action here Sinh. I love the pose, arched neck and splash, this looks very dynamic. I agree with Doug that all that water in the foreground doesn't add anything to the image. You might want to try a pano crop for this one. Well done.

Welcome, Sinh. Excellent first post. Fantastic action with the splash and eye contact. I agree with Doug and Joel's suggestions.

Thank you Doug, Joel and Tony, I want to apologize for taking so long to reply. I did edit this image the way you guys suggested and it came out much better that the original version. Thank you so much for pointing out what I need to improve on this image.
